Russell Davies
As ever, we at totally spoked like to help out wherever we can in assisting talented riders make the most of their potential. The latest rider to come on board at the shop is Russell Davies, a late-comer to the sport of MTB racing but one who undoubtedly has a lot of talent and ability. We will be helping Russell as he advances through the competition and makes his way towards the upper echelons of Elite racing so watch this space for regular updates from him...
"I started riding in January 2005 due to rehabilitation as a result from a knee reconstruction. I quickly developed an interest in the cross-country mountain bike scene and took part in my first race in March 2005 which gave me a respect for how hard the sport was. I then decided to start a training regime and have achieved the following results since then."
- C grade - sunshine series 2005 round 5 - 8th
- C grade - SE Qld XC MTB championships 2005 - 3rd
- B grade - summer XC series round 2 2006 - 1st
- A grade - summer XC series round 3 2006 - 3rd
- B grade - sunshine series 2006 round 1 - 3rd
- B grade - sunshine series 2006 round 2 - 1st
- B grade - sunshine series 2006 round 3 - 2nd
- B grade - sunshine series 2006 round 4 - 1st
- 6 person 24hr endurance 2006 (Kooralbyn) - 1st
"Future events for 2006 include SE Qld MTB champs, 12hr endurance, 6hr endurance, The Epic 100 and what ever comes along.
My goals for 2007 include competing in the elite grade of the sunshine series. I will also pursue competing in marathon events throughout SE Qld
